Clarity
When a statement of scripture is clear, embrace and understand it as such; when the meaning or implication is unclear, look for clarity from those passages in the Bible that are clear.
Context
Study the passage or specific statement in its context rather than seeking to understand it in isolation.
Comprehensiveness
Consider any one passage in view of the full scope of scripture, as part of the full message God intends.
Continuity
Recognize how any passage fits into the whole story before and after it in both the Old and New Testaments.
Community
Scripture is best studied, understood, and confirmed in a setting with others who are dedicated to receive and live the truth of God
Commitment
We are committed before we study the Bible to apply and act according to the truth we receive from the scriptures.
Christ
All scripture points to Christ, the Living Word, and all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Him. Christ is both the example and the power to live His truth and life as His followers.
“All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” II Timothy 3:16-17 NASB
