James 3:17 “But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.” (New International)

Dictionary

Wisdom – the power of judging rightly and following the soundest course of action, based on knowledge, experience and understanding

Paraphrase or Amplified

James 3:17 “But the wisdom from above is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace-loving, courteous, (considerate, gentle). (It is willing to yield to reason and bear good fruits; it is whole-hearted and straightforward, impartial, and unfeigned – free from doubts, wavering and insincerity.

How does Christ relate to this quality?

I Corinthians 1:30 Christ is made unto us wisdom. We have wisdom resident within us because we are in union with Christ. By faith we can confess wisdom as ours because we are joint heirs of Christ who has been made heir of all things.

Confession of faith or prayer

Lord, when I am making decisions, or participate in group decision making, manifest the wisdom which is in the Lord Jesus Christ in me and to me. I (we) will seek your will, not being satisfied until my (our) understanding of the situation meets the criteria choose to act upon will be pure and free from all wrongdoing, make for peace among the parties involved, be a courteous and gentle way of managing the matter, be compassionate, and show promise of bearing good end result. I (we) will choose that which is fair to everyone and yet partial to no one, expressing my (our) present understanding as sincerely as possible. When doubts or two minds dominate in the setting, I (we) will seek for the way which is of faith and harmony.
