The following questions may be considered from a personal (individual) perspective or from an organizational (team, board) perspective.

  1. Which of the forms of authority (position, competence, spiritual, relationship; see companion document, “Authority Diagram and Postures”) 
    • Is the most well-developed?
    • Needs to be strengthened?
    • By what means? (e.g., giving more honor to others)
  1. To exercise authority fruitfully in the situation(s) before us, in what regard do I/we need to
    • Kneel down
    • Stand in
    • Stand up
    • Sitdown
  1. In the key authority relationship within the ministry between the Board and the Executive Director, what growth in exercising authority is essential at this time …
    • On the part of the Board as a whole?
