Banners – Meaning and Function

A banner is a piece of cloth with designs, words, emblems that

  1. Represent the spirit of an army
  2. Serve as a rallying point for a group endeavor 
  3. Represent a standard to be maintained
  4. Stir group to inspired action

JEHOVAH-NISSI:  The Lord is My Banner

     Exodus 17:15 Moses, Aaron, Hur (hands upraised and upheld enabled army to gain victory)

SS 2:4 His banner over me is love

     A standard, a spirit for rallying together, a celebration

Army symbolism:  SS 6:4,10; Is 13:2 awesome as an army with banners

Ps 20:5 In the name of our Lord we will set up banners

Ps 60:4 Thou hast given a banner to those who fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth

 Ps 60:5 That Thy beloved may be delivered.  Save with Thy right hand and answer us.

A banner declares our victory!
