- Apostolic overseers relate primarily to the elders of the congregation
- Concern for and direct ministry to nurture the spiritual well being of the elders, and particularly the pastoral leaders
- Identification and incorporation of new elders
- Provide guidance when authority and roles shifts take place with or among the elders
- Provide guidance in evaluation, growth, sabbaticals of elders
- Provide coaching on gift, role, and ministry development of leaders
- Provide coaching on the congregation-wide process of leadership development
- Provide guidance in times of spiritual attack or crisis that affects the overall ministry of the congregation
- Provide guidance should there be serious interpersonal conflicts or breakdown of relationships among the elders
- Provide guidance in the case of personal moral failure among the elders
- Provide guidance in dealing with application of scriptural principles to doctrinal matters or application of scripture to contemporary issues
- Assist in cultivating external relationships and outreach; counsel on the integration of all elements of congregational ministries in a cohesive Kingdom advancement.
